CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT – McDONALD & COMPANY (AUSTRALASIA) PTY LTD

Our primary responsibility is to ensure that the sensitive information you entrust to us remains confidential at all times. To achieve this we employ the highest levels of security. Your data will be used by us for the preparation of reports to which you contribute and subscribe. Your data may be used by us for research into trends in remuneration.

Whenever your data are included in a report we take steps to ensure that it cannot be identified or associated with your organisation. If your data are included in research, all data are anonymous and no reference will be made to the policy or practice of an individual company

When we store your data we take the following precautions:

  • electronic data are stored on computers protected with a master password;
  • hard copy data are kept in locked premises where access is controlled; and,
  • when hard copy data are no longer needed, they are destroyed.

We take the following steps to ensure that your electronic communications with us (especially those via email) are secure:

  • validating your email address as appropriate before sending sensitive data;
  • labelling communications about sensitive matters as “Private & Confidential”;
  • protecting written reports against unauthorised editing or re-purposing by submitting them in Adobe® Acrobat® protected by our master password;
  • using a password selected by yourself to protect the opening and editing of spreadsheets and documents; and
  • digitally encrypting any internal communications between consultants, reducing the risk of unauthorised interception.

We take the following steps to ensure that your written communications with us are secure:

  • labelling communications about sensitive matters as “Private & Confidential”;
  • ensuring sensitive documents are “double-enveloped” and directed to you; and
  • using a courier to enable the tracking of documents

    • Your feedback on any initiatives that you believe we should take to protect your data are welcome. If you believe that any action of ours may compromise the security of your data or someone else’s data, please advise us immediately.
