McDonald & Company (Australasia) Pty Ltd is a Human Resources Management Consultancy specialising in remuneration services to the mining & resources industries and engineering & construction industry. It conducts biannual surveys of salaries and benefits in the coal & metalliferous mining sectors and in the smelting, refining & mineral processing industry in Australasia. These are recognised as the leading surveys in the country and have, between them 200 participating companies.

In December 2007, the Company began a survey of remuneration in the engineering & construction industry. In October 2010, the Company will commence a survey of upstream oil & gas remuneration.

In addition, McDonald & Company (Australasia) provides consulting services to clients in Australia and overseas on issues such as:

• the strategic alignment of remuneration & policy;
• the integration of remuneration policies and systems during mergers & takeovers to facilitate organisation synergies;
• short and long-term incentive plans to reward performance;
• the preparation of special reports for Remuneration Committees on executive and non-executive remuneration;
• research into the relationship between remuneration structures and organisational behavior;
• job evaluation to recognise the contribution of different roles to the prosperity of the business;
• the design of broad-banded remuneration structures;
• research into the impact of rosters and working conditions on remuneration; and,
• international / expatriate remuneration and benefits.

Projects have been undertaken in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Ghana, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Russia, the United States and Canada.
