Non- Executive Directors
Remuneration Surveys - Non-Executive Directors - Australia
Data in respect of the remuneration of non-executive chairmen and directors were extracted from the metalliferous mining, coal mining, the smelting, refining & petro-chemical industry and engineering & construction databases to provide an enhanced database of resources industry remuneration. We are now able to provide a comprehensive report on non-executive remuneration across the resources industry.
The current Resources Industry Non-Executive Directors' Remuneration Report was published in December 2009. This year 83 companies contributed data to the survey in respect of 71 incumbent chairmen and 83 non-executive directors.
Rewards are examined in terms of basic fees, committee feees, retirement benefits & long-term compensation. The relationships between Chief Executive Officer & Chairman remuneration and between Chairman & Non-Executive Director remuneration are analysed and explained. The impact of company size (e.g. Market Capitalisation & Shareholder Equity) are investigated. The data show clearly that there are strong & statistically robust relationships between company size and non-executive director remuneration.
